   • The Kanneliya-Dediyagala-Nakiyadeniya (KDN) Biosphere Reserve is situated approximately 35 kilometers northwest of Galle.

   • It is the last large remaining rainforest in Sri Lanka after the famous Sinharaja Rain Forest.

   • The forest complex covers an area of 5,139 hectares of core area and an additional 5,000 hectares of buffer zone.
